Q: Would you officiate my wedding? I’d really appreciate it. — Amir, from an undisclosed country
A: Amir, first of all, I’d like to congratulate you on your upcoming marriage! Marriage comes from God Himself and is one of just two institutions that He gave in the Garden of Eden — the other being the Sabbath. With God at the center, your home can be a very happy and bright place. May the Lord bless you and your wife!
Thank you for inviting me to be the officiating pastor at your wedding. However, let me encourage you to find a Seventh-day Adventist pastor near where you live. It should be someone with whom you and your wife-to-be would feel comfortable talking with and getting to know before your wedding. Pre-marital counseling with a godly minister or counselor is very helpful.
