Q: Why are Adventists all Republicans?

James B. sent in a series of questions about Seventh-day Adventists:

Q: Why are Adventists all Republicans?

A: Actually, we’re not. The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a worldwide movement with 19.1 million members in more than 200 countries. Among Adventists living in the United States, you’ll find a wide range of political diversity, including Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, and more. As an official entity, the Seventh-day Adventist Church does not promote any specific political party and has long been a proponent of religious liberty, promoting the separation of church and state.
