Every year, close to 200,000 people move from the rural areas to the urban setting seeking for a greener pasture, a better life. Every year, there are 70 million people around the world who makes the same decision. That’s 130 individuals every minute. It is alarming. according to the United Nations’ research, 70% of the world’s population will be found in the cities by 2050, that’s almost 10 billion people around the world. The latest study pertaining to Philippines’ population, we are already closing to our 100 million mark by 2015. With this statistics and studies available to us, the Seventh-day Adventists took this initiative and opportunity to share compassion and hope to the largest cities in the world. This is our mission, our burden, and our passion: Mission to the Cities. It is a holistic approach to share the gospel in the urban setting.
